Whenever you do anything online that has to do with your marketing, you need to utilize the little tips and tricks that will push you up in the rankings and drive more traffic your way.
Dedicate the time.
First and foremost, remember you need to dedicate time to your marketing efforts frequently. Marketing and networking on a daily basis is ideal but if you can’t do that, at least shoot for every other day or every third day. You’ve got to put some time and effort into it if you want results. Your competitors are.
Don’t forget to use your anchor text EVERYWHERE, including those ’secret’ places.
When you comment on other people’s blogs, enter your keywords into the “name” field of the comment box. And of course, add your link to the “URL” field. Generally, your “name” will be linked to the URL you enter…so in this case, now your keywords will be linked to the URL, creating your anchor text.
As always, don’t spam. Leave relevant, useful comments on people’s blogs and they’ll generally be happy to let you have some link love.
Properly utilize your profiles.
Utilize your online profiles. Make sure you include your link(s) in your profiles and use your anchor text where html is allowed. Do this with EVERY profile you have, including your bookmarking profiles. There are a TON of social sites out there, use them!
Interact.
Interact on the sites where you have profiles. Even if it’s just once a week on each profile, interacting will deliver better results than just letting them sit. Wish people a Happy Bday when it’s their Bday. Make friendly with folks. Honey goes a long way. You might just develop some great relationships. Some serious networking has happened that way.
Compliment
If someone has some great content, let them know it. They’ll probably come by and check you out in return.
Bookmark, Bookmark, Bookmark
There are a zillion bookmarking sites out there. Use them! Bookmark everything – your blog’s main URL, each individual post, your ‘about’ page, any other pages; your website’s main URL, your deep pages, every page; your social profiles, your social profile’s blog or additional pages; your bookmarking accounts that allow links in your profile; and, every other page you can dig up that relates to you. Don’t leave a thing out!
Offer something free.
People LOVE free. It works. Offer people something free for taking a particular action. But make sure it has some value to it. If you give them something crappy, they probably won’t like you, come back, or tell anyone about you. Whatever it is you seek, give your readers/followers something in return. Tell them to send their friends to get their free xxx too.
There are a lot of things that you can do to increase the return of your marketing efforts. These are just a few.
